last night was great!
chris and dalene, our friends from church, are planning a work day for their team to come out to the house and do a lot of the heavy work. huzzah!!! (as dumpster dan would say) they came to the house last night and checked it out to see what needs to be done. It will be Saturday, July 26, from 6:00 am to noon (tentatively). Their main priorities are, in some order from greatest to least: living room floor, upstairs great room wood floor, upstairs bathroom floor, linoleum on kitchen floor, a step from the kitchen to utility room, hanging doors (inside house), hanging blinds, replacing flooring by back side door, and removing all garbage from premises in a big trailer. hurrah!
so, what we need to do this week. select what rooms we want to paint and how. this weekend, we can do all the painting if that is possible (then on the work day they can do the floors more easily, and if time, help us with any further painting). let's decide on the painting before friday, so we can get all the stuff together and hit it hard core on saturday. do you guys want to meet thursday night perhaps?

Thursday night is great. Does that mean it's our job to put tile down in the bottom floor bathrooms?
ummm i'm totally out of all decision making (yay!) haha but i'll help paint if you're looking for extra hands!
So what was the result of that guy checking out the floors? Do we have do anymore work besides just laying the boards down?
How serious is the electrical and plumbing work that needs to be done and are we going to replace the upstairs toilet?
Also, we need a step from the back door down to the yard. It's a bit of a drop.
Oh and my Dad is going to help us out by buying some window units at some point. For the winter, we'll need to get some space heaters if the window units don't have heat (they are like $40 bucks) but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Don't go too crazy on the painting!
Weston, they are going to HELP us with the floors after we replace the boards and sand them down. It's our job to lay tile or linoleum for the two bottom floor bathrooms. On the back door, i think Ken might want to build a porch back there, so we'll hold off on the step for now. Thanks to your dad for the window unit. Sounds great! :)
Thats not what I meant, John was talking about some guy crawling around under the floors to see if anything else need to be done to them. I was wondering what the result of that was.
